| History: | Name derived from the Spanish word 'pozo' meaning 'well'. There were two wells called Los Posos which appeared on a General Land Office (GLO) map in 1867. An 1892 map shows the wells as Los Poses and the plain as Posas Valley (AZ-T101). |
