History: | Constructed by Phelps Dodge in 1965. Acquired by the Salt River Project (SRP) in February 2005 as part of the Gila River Indian Water Rights Settlement approved by the Arizona Water Settlement Act. Became part of the Salt River Federal Reclamation Project on Sept. 30, 2005, and renamed in honor of Charles Calhoun Cragin, leader of the Salt River Valley Water Users' Association from 1920 to 1933. |
