In 1982, the US Board on Geographic Names received and approved a proposal to change the application of the name, citing the recommendations of local National Park Service (NPS) andU.S. Forest Service (USFS)personnel that the 1910 application was incorrect. The name was relocated to the more northerly 8,056 ft peak. |
